Our design for the Riverside Building for Urban Space Management at Trinity Buoy Wharf brings together three factors that are central to the project.
Firstly, a rare opportunity to build on a beautiful south-facing riverside site offering panoramic views across this historic Dockland stretch of the Thames.
Secondly, an opportunity to develop the earlier language of precedents at Trinity Buoy Wharf making excellent, affordable units by utilising recycled sea containers, an aggregation of units forming light, airy, modern accommodation.
Thirdly, the sustainable, low cost design programme brings together the multi-functional aspects of the brief providing for a bar, south facing café-restaurant, studios and offices arranged around a central courtyard which binds the functions and building forms and provides pedestrian access to the expansive riverside environment beyond.
