Commissioned by Limerick City Council as part of a greater Regeneration Masterplan for South Limerick and now run by CLUID, the project provides thirty five apartments for older persons organized around a private, secure, central landscaped garden that forms the heart of this new community.
A communal facility creates a social hub for residents and provides offices for local community groups while caretaker accommodation (together with visitors’ guest-room) generating a secure, well-maintained environment.
The project seeks to foster a sense of community and belonging by creating generous high-quality, spacious and bright apartments, with the capacity to be fully disabled accessible, set within a pleasant garden setting that encourages neighbourliness and casual interaction between residents.
