Presentation Convent, Waterford
The design provides for new housing within the precinct of the existing convent building designed by A.W.N. Pugin.
An existing school building is remodelled to provide new apartments, while larger apartment blocks are located at the site perimeter and form a new vista to the convent building.
Semi-detached houses are formed into a crescent around the existing curve of the convent drive and materials sympathetic to the existing rubble masonry & slate roof are employed.
A terrace of ‘cottage’ apartments are located in the south east of the site as well as a single detached house for use by the community.
Project Description: 90 Apartments, 14 Semi-detached houses, 10 Cottages and 1 Detached house
Area: Site – 5.6 Acres, Convent – 1.2 Acres
