National Museum of Ireland, Dublin
ABK were appointed by the Office of Public Works to prepare a Development Control Plan for the National Museum building at Kildare Street, Dublin. As various interventions
have been carried out in the building over a long period of time, it was important that all new work should form part of a coherent strategy for the future.
The Development Control Plan provides an overall strategy to determine work to be carried out to the building, in terms of the fabric, the planning layout and the exhibition
design and content.
The Plan will operate at two levels, namely the strategic overview of Space, Exhibits and Building design as well as a more detailed review of areas such as Means of Escape and Universal Access.
