Back to Projects Carrickmines Croquet and Tennis Club

Carrickmines Croquet and Lawn Tennis Club is located in the suburbs of South County Dublin on a south-facing slope with extensive views of the Wicklow mountains.

The project involved replacement of original building with a new clubhouse, consisting of bar restaurant club rooms and changing facilities together with three indoor tennis courts.

The project is conceived as a series of elongated garden walls, which define external spaces and which wrap around the indoor courts, screening their mass. The clubhouse itself acts as a key, unlocking the individual terraces and facilitating access to all sections of the site.

The existing site has been re-graded to form a series of contained terraces or out-door rooms each defined by box hedging.
