Back to Projects Bexhill Masterplans, East Sussex

Following the selection of our scheme as the winning competition submission we were commissioned to carry our a Town Centre Study, including, in more detail, development options for seafront sites adjacent to the Bexhill Pavillion and the Promenade.

Several seafront regeneration options were prepared for stakeholder consultations to facilitate the selection of a preferred option for wider publication and discussion.

A particular sensitivity had been identified in relation to the ‘putting green’ open space adjacent to the west flank of the Grade I listed thirties modern masterpiece, the Bexhill Pavillion. Our proposal takes special account of this context retaining a largely open character for this part of the proposed development.

Following the completion of our proposals for Bexhill town center, the Rother District Council commissioned ABK Architects to carry out a study for the Bexhill Rail Corridor, considering regeneration opportunities and options for an area identified in our Town Centre Study. Our planning and urban design proposals relate to a parallel study prepared by Knight Frank LLP for retail and commercial development for the corridor as part of the Bexhill Town Centre.
