    Robert Davys has worked in Ireland, the U.K., Canada and Russia. He graduated from University College Dublin and later joined ABK in their London office. After working from London for 15 years he returned to Dublin in 2000.

    Robert has been involved in the largest and most technically challenging projects that the practice have completed; these include the New British Embassy in Moscow , John Lewis Department Store, London, 12 new stations for the London Docklands Light Railway, Institute of Technology, Blanchardstown, Institute of Technology, Tralee and North Tipperary County Council Civic Offices, Nenagh

    Alongside his considerable design experience Robert is an Accredited Conservation Architect having recently completed Development Control Plans for both the National Museum of Ireland and Trinity College Dublin, Technology and Enterprise Campus, and Conservation reports for Cork Public Baths and Kilmallock Union Workhouse.

    Robert has developed extensive knowledge in the design and delivery of sustainable building projects, including a variety of passive as well as active systems including energy conservation, water conservation, ground water, geothermal, lifetime adaptability, natural and passive ventilation and natural light and solar shading. ABK have developed a reputation for Sustainable Architecture that is reinforced through our being awarded the RIAI Most Sustainable Building Award on two separate occasions.

    John Parker is a practicing architect with experience in the UK and Ireland. Having worked in a number of leading architectural practices, including Dixon and Jones and de Blacam and Meagher, he joined ABK Architects in 1998, becoming a director in 2001. He has a particular expertise in sustainability and has lectured on sustainable design including a recent presentation to PLEA Conference (Passive and Low-Energy Architecture) ‘Towards Zero Energy Building’

    John was the design leader on a range of buildings recognised for the quality of their design and execution including Kilmallock Library, Local Area Office and Courthouse, Cork City Civic Offices, and Offaly Civic Offices which received numerous awards including RIAI Best Public Building Award, RIAI Best Sustainable Building and RIBA European Award.

    John has experience of creative collaborative working including the urban design and masterplanning of the Dublin’s North Lotts for the Dublin Docklands Development Agency, which was carried out as a joint venture with Dutch practice West 8, and is currently working on the Roscommon County Council Offices project, Sheltered Housing for Limerick Regeneration Agency and IADT Film School in Dún Laoghaire.

    In addition, he is a senior lecturer in the School of Architecture, University College Dublin as well as a visiting critic to a number of architecture schools in Ireland, the U.K. and Spain. He is an external examiner for the RIAI Professional Practice Examinations and is a Director of Architects Registration Accreditation Examination Body in Ireland.
